As we gather on November 17th for our final Unwind & Unknot session of the year, join us in a heart-centered practice designed to release tension, cultivate openness, and reflect on the season’s deeper meaning. This marks the fourth and final event in a series that has helped our community prepare for each season with grounding, connection, and renewal. This event offers a beautiful way to prepare for the holidays with an open heart, creating space for joy, gratitude, and inner calm.
The Power of Restorative Yoga and Trigger Point Therapy
Restorative yoga and trigger point therapy offer a transformative, calming experience by focusing on deep relaxation and targeted muscle release. Restorative yoga supports the body in comfortable, fully-supported shapes held for extended periods, encouraging a profound release that promotes peace and balance. Coupled with trigger point therapy—focused pressure on areas of tension—this workshop offers relief from the everyday strain that often settles in the chest, shoulders, and upper back.
By pairing these practices with gentle mobility work, focused on shoulder, chest, and upper back areas, we not only relieve physical tension but also improve circulation and create space within the heart chakra. This area is known for housing compassion, empathy, and connection—qualities that come alive during the holidays. Together, these elements provide a pathway to deeper breathing, less stress, and more openness.
Essential Oils: Enhancing Your Restorative Practice
Essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, and frankincense are renowned for their ability to calm the mind and promote grounding. During our session, we’ll incorporate these oils to create a soothing atmosphere that enhances relaxation. Lavender’s calming properties, eucalyptus’s clearing effects, and frankincense’s grounding scent all help promote relaxation and emotional release.
If you’d like to explore using essential oils at home, these scents can be a wonderful addition to your own restorative practice. Try adding a few drops to a diffuser before your practice or massage onto your wrists or temples. Using high-quality, organic options, like those available here, can deepen your experience and create a nurturing sensory environment at home.
Embracing this Practice at Home and in Community
This event brings a meaningful conclusion to our four-part Unwind & Unknot series, which began last spring.
Each session has prepared the heart and mind for seasonal transitions, supporting participants as they reflect, release, and renew with each phase. Past attendees share that the series has brought them peace, grounding, and connection—benefits that resonate throughout times of change.
“I loved this experience! Both Amber's guided meditation and Tracey's trigger point therapy was so relaxing and exactly what I needed.” – Erin F
For first-time participants, here are some practices from this series that you can integrate into your home routine:
Create a Home Sanctuary: Designate a quiet, cozy space for a few restorative poses that open the chest and shoulders. Use pillows or blankets for support, and play soft music to set a calming mood.
Incorporate Essential Oils: As mentioned, essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, or frankincense can deepen relaxation. Diffuse oils nearby or gently massage onto the temples or wrists to create a calming effect.
Practice Heart-Opening Movements: Gentle shoulder, chest, and upper back stretches release tension and promote a sense of openness—perfect as we step into the holidays.
These practices, whether done alone or in our group setting, foster a sense of presence, openness, and peace that make the holidays more meaningful and stress-free.
